Subluxation Station

Asymmetrical EMG Scan

Symmetric EMG scan

The Subluxation Station features three painless, non-invasive tests that will help us characterize the activity surrounding your spine. Altered activity can be associated with a subluxation or other forms of spinal dysfunction.

1. The Surface Electromyography (SEMG) Scan measures the electrical signals from your muscles. Subluxations can disturb the function of a nerve, causing an abnormal amount of electrical current flowing to your muscles. The Muscle Balance (Symmetry) Scan measures the amount of 'pull' the muscles surrounding the spine are exerting. When the spine is out of alignment, it causes a muscle imbalance, resulting in fatigued or weak muscles along the spine.

2. The Thermal Scan measures temperature differences between each side of your body. When the communication between the nervous system and blood vessels is altered, it causes the body's thermostat to malfunction, producing an imbalanced temperature reading along the spine.

3. Inclinometry measures Range of Motion of Spine. This is important for detecting motion problems with subluxation. Generally, subluxations will decrease range of motion.

We also perform computerized muscle testing. More than a dozen major Universities and hospitals have used the technology behind the microFET2 to gather research data. Their recognition supports microFET2 accuracy and reliability in a clinical setting. The cost-effective and ergonomically design of the unit measures force simultaneously from multiple directions, so even the slightest tip of the transducer does not effect the test results providing reliable and objective data.

Computerized Muscle Tester

Corrective Exercises * We teach our patients individualized exercises designed just for them to help correct their own unique problem. Many of these exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home. Other exercises may be best done under the guidance of one of our doctors or our staff. Exercises can include strengthening, stretching, aerobic exercise and other activities designed to improve your overall performance and prevent future problems.
